Casa Belazure is primarily intended as the family holiday retreat for the owner and designer, Joy, who lives on Madeira.  Peacefully situated towards the south western end of the island you have views of the fabulous sandy beach (nearly 9kms in length), only five minutes away on foot.  Nearby you have a supermarket and restaurants and the island's main village, Vila Baleira, can be reached by a very short bus ride.

The accommodation is of the highest quality and is mainly ground floor. The layout was inspired by a converted wine press discovered by Joy and her family while on holiday in Provence and the decor follows a plantation theme, with terracotta floor tiles, colonial-style rattan furniture and colourful Designers Guild fabrics.

Immediately outiside the main living area a decking terrace contains a Weber kettle BBQ, shaded dining table for six and some loungers and garden chairs. From here and the garden you have lovely views of the hills and down to the beach.  An outside shower is useful for washing off sand from the beach and you can park your car securely right next to the main entrance door.

Private holiday rental villas of this quality are almost impossible to find on Porto Santo so you can feel excited to have discovered this one!  Ideal for a romantic get-away or for families seeking a wonderfully laid-back escape from the pressures and fast pace of everyday life!

ABOUT THE ISLAND OF PORTO SANTO
Often reffered to as Madeira's little sister, the small island of Porto Santo lies less than 50 miles north west of Madeira and couldn't be more different!  Compared to Madeira's majestic mountains, lush tropical vegetation and pebble beaches, Porto Santo's hills are small and gentle, the dryer climate produces a somewhat barren landscape and a glorious sandy beach with dunes extends nearly 9 kms along the entire south coast of the island.
This beach is undoubtedly Porto Santo's prime attraction but for the more active visitors a brand new golf course (designed by Seve Ballesteros), a tennis academy and an equestrian centre have recently opened.  The picturesque capital, Vila Baleira, is just a lively village of less than 3,000 souls.  The small variety of hotels, some very new, can be mainly found on the south coast together with a selection of shops, banks, restaurants, bars, cafés and shops including a well stocked supermarket.  In the summer the island teems with visitors, mostly Portuguese, whereas at other times of the year there are few tourists.

HOW TO GET THERE
A ferry and several flights operate daily between Funchal and Porto Santo.  We can help you find more sources of information on Porto Santo and how to get there.
